The Wandering Realm is a community for femme-identifying folk located in the DFW area. We are comprised of multiple member-run groups including two book clubs, a crafting group, a dinner party group, and a TTRPG gaming guild. Our website is meant to act as a directory while most of our communications, event planning, and community information will come from our designated Discord Server that is accessible to members only.
We are always looking to expand and introduce new groups to the community.

Owned and hosted by member Jeri E, the Gaming Guild is a monthly table top role playing game, or TTRPG, group that hosts gatherings to play games such as Dungeons and Dragons!

Owned and hosted by member Renee M, the Craft Goblins meets in-person in DFW to spend time together crafting, yapping, and learning new skills. Whether you’re learning to crochet, paint, or create your next cosplay, this group is always accepting new members and ideas! We cannot wait to see you at our next crafting event!

Join the Culinary Queens
Owned and hosted by Ryan W the Culinary Queens is a dinner party club where women gather each month to enjoy good food, drinks, and vibes. Each party is unique, with the hostess bringing her own theme to life. As a host, you will get to design the entire evening by curating your own menu, décor, music, and entertainment. As a guest, you can bring things to share and enjoy an evening with the girls. Dinner parties are our way of exploring new recipes, meeting new people, and sharing in a love for good food, conversation, and parties!

Join the After Dark Book Club
Owned and hosted by member Kate M, The Wandering Realm After Dark is a book club that reads spicy novels of various genres. We meet in-person monthly and rotate to different locations throughout the DFW area (hopefully we’ll be near you soon!). So far this year, TWRAD’s top-rated reads are Bride, Her Soul to Take, and Sex Wizards.
COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT 09/01/2024
With a bittersweet heart, I announce the closing of the monthly events and my role in managing the Realm. It is incredibly difficult to fathom a life without the monthly TWR events but the time has come for me to transition the Realm to a self-run group.
When I began this adventure in October 2022, my goal was always to commit for two years and I am proud to have achieved that goal with all of you by my side. Thank you for sharing this journey with me; your presence has been a true gift. I carry the memories and magic of our shared experiences in my heart.
While I will be stepping back, rest assured that the spirit of our community will continue to shine brightly. We will keep our social media accounts alive for Craft Goblins and Book Club announcements, and our Discord server will remain open so that everyone can stay connected and engaged.
As we look to the future, I encourage each of you to keep the momentum going by hosting your own events and initiatives. Your passion and creativity are the essence of this realm, and I do not doubt you will continue to make it thrive!
To celebrate our time together, I will be organizing a farewell social hour at a bar in September (location TBD) and I hope to see as many of you there as possible for one last gathering!

The Wandering Realm came to be from the desire for fantastical escapism. Our founder, Gabrielle McGarry, often yearned to be part of the worlds she read about in her fantasy novels; alas, the real world does not offer enough opportunities for masquerade balls, fae-themed luncheons, or axe and dagger trainings.
As she was lamenting about this lack of fantastical whimsy, Gabby was fortunate to reach a like-minded group of individuals on TikTok. With the momentum, interest, and desire from fellow femme-identifying community members, she sprung into action by planning the first community event: Forming the Fellowship. Forty beautiful folks - knowing no one in the community - dressed in their woodland-witch best to take a leap of faith and meet others with similar passions and interests.
Since our first community event in October 2022, our founder saw potential to grow this community into the fantastical escapism she sought. Gabby has curated exclusive experiences like The Winter Solstice Celebration and the Bookish Bestie Book Swap to continue making fantastical escapism an everyday reality.
Eventually, Gabby aims to expand The Wandering Realm beyond the confines of DFW and host events for people across the globe. We welcome you to our humble whimsical community and hope you can find your own fantastical escapism.
